Up for sale is this maroon 2013 Kia Optima, 156190 miles currently on the odometer. This sale is held pursuant to a Court Order to generate funds to pay against a Money Judgment entered by the Court against the owner. The sale will commence on April 30th, 2026 at 10:00 am. The sale will be held in the east parking lot of the Codington County Extension Center, 1910 West Kemp: look for the arrows on green signs that state “Sheriff’s Auction.” This vehicle is the only vehicle for sale, and this vehicle is offered and sold on an “as-is” basis: no warranties are either expressed or implied. The attached pictures tell everything we can say as to vehicle condition. Due to insurance requirements, we will not allow bidders test drives of the vehicle. The vehicle will first be available for public inspection at 9:30 am at the sale location, and the sale will commence at 10:00 am. The sale may be postponed in the event of inclement weather or lack of bidders. As it is the only vehicle for sale, the sale itself may take 5 minutes or less, so do not be late. The sale method will be by public verbal auction to the highest bidder. At the end of the auction, the highest bidder will be expected to pay cash, or a certified check made out to the “Codington County Sheriff’s Office,” for the bid amount on or before 3:30 pm on the day of the sale. Once the bid amount is paid, the purchaser will receive a signed Bill of Sale which the purchaser can take to their home County Treasurer’s Office to have a clear title issued in their name, and the one single key fob that we have for the vehicle. Possession will not be allowed until the bid amount is settled.
